CartesianCapture is a 3D scanning app. This policy explains what data it uses and where it goes.
Cartesian Capture uses the following capabilities:
- Camera & depth sensor (LiDAR/TrueDepth):** to build the point cloud and mesh you scan.
- Location (GPS/GNSS):** to georeference a scan, if you choose to enable it — recorded as a coordinate alongside the scan.
- Motion data:** to track device orientation during close-range (TrueDepth) scans.
Where your data goes:
- Nowhere, unless you send it somewhere. All scanning, processing, and storage happens entirely on your device. CartesianCapture has no servers, no user accounts, and does not transmit your scans, location, or photos anywhere.
- Your data leaves the device only when you choose to export it — via the share sheet, or through the optional GIS app integration feature (off by default), at your explicit request.
- The only outbound network call the app makes on its own is a lookup of coordinate-system definitions from a public reference service (epsg.io). No personal data is included.
- Scans are stored on your device until you delete them or delete the app.
Cartesian Capture has no analytics, advertising, tracking, third-party SDKs, accounts, or data sale/sharing.
